The Washed Up Canditorial Race
Well, I did it. After class yesterday I did my civil duty and did the early voting thing. Whom you asked? Well, McCain and Palin I reply. But who cares that I voted, what matters is that I lost my voters registration card and drivers license between the court house of um, well, this G E O R G E O U S , nah that's not it, how about B E A U T F UL Marianna, ugh who am I kidding, one horse town and my house ( I hate to cuss so that will have to do). I am calling around looking to see that I did not leave them with the lady that was so eager to grab them bad boys out of my hand to make sure I was who I say I am. I still think they count the cows in their cenus totals. But lo and behold as I grab the clothes out of the washer to go into the final sock missing in action dryer......there is my shinny face looking back at me from a Tennessee T-shirt. The voters registration card however is still a POW of the disappearing zone of laundry. I would like to think that my laundry soap is sooooo great that it even disintegrates paper without leaving a trace of lint. Wish I find amusing since I cannot get 1 peice of dog hair to let loose of a sweater in the washer. But I am still me and I still live here, I have a "clean drivers license"

Here we go again
Jim woke me up this morning after he got out of the shower, 5minutes after I got up he starts yelling at me. Apparently I am now screwing guys again, am being sneeky behind his back, yadda yadda yadda. I went ahead and called the lawyer today and am expecting a call back tomorrow. Jim took my cell phone- so no one can call me on that anymore either. I guess his paranonia will allow him to get a call from all my so-called boyfriends. Neither one of us can live like this anymore.
Sydney has done well his first week in school. I saved his first day of school paper work in his baby book. The candle that had his 2 year old teeth marks in the wax however would not fit in there.

Who Needs GITMO

Because of school enrolment Sydney and I both had to get a Tetnus shot. 1 Week later I am still feeling like a MAC truck plowed into my arm and left my arm for fall-off dead. Sydney on the other hand is Batman, Superman and Spiderman all-in-one and was better after about 5 days. In my opinion every person being held for war crimes at Gitmo does not have to be water-boarded, no bamboo under the finger nails, no shackles; just give the prisoners a Tetnus shot and they will be rendered useless of labor for a week.

School Bound
Sydney and I both start school within the next 2 weeks, he starts kindergarden and I start Paramedic classes. Sydney is excited about it as well as I am. Tired nights are in store for the next year as school, work, Sydney and Jim will all need tending to. I honestly think that Jim will not survive it. He is very demanding, more so than Sydney.

Summer Heat

It's hot and I know somewhere they are sizzling eggs on a sidewalk. My garden is brown but the weeds in the back yard were green and 40 feet tall. It took 2 days to mow the yard down since we do it by self propelled mower. We took a break after being outside for 10-15 minutes at a time. Inside for a half an hour. Were is the rain? Were is the snow? Where is my pillow? The heat drains my every being.

Happy Fourth of July
Jim and I watched a movie tonight. It was a good chick flick,a sniffle here and there from the both of us. We tried to watch the movie as Sydney kept coming in and asking for us to go "Fireworking" as Jim bought him a few Roman Candles and colored sparklers. After the movie I sprayed each of us down with bug spray. Jim lit one candle and Sydney went screaming for the back yard gate. The fire scared him. I hate the noise. There was enough smoke in the air from neighbors fireworks to eliminate any bug, critter or any creatures that lurk in the night away for miles into the countryside for the next 2 days. And humidity. Did I mension I hate the heat? We come in the house and turn on the weather channel, a trip next week had me interested in the states that I will be going to. I hear,"Seattle having trouble getting out of the 60's". I was internally screaming,"WHY DID I EVER LEAVE THE COOLNESS OF WASHINGTON?"

What Constitutes A Trail Mix?

Now I like to think that every once-in-a-while I give Sydney something good to eat for snacks. But this my parental friends this is a great one for adults. Who cannot resist graham cracker cookies shaped like a bee, yummy miniature chocolate bears with cute belly buttons and yogurt covered raisins? And do not forget the mini pretzels either.
Sydney and I ate this on our last trip, one box and one hour later......going going gone. Now all that is missing is the M&M's.
This is one that is great for anyone who can chew the raisins, numbing with the gums is only allowed with persons over the age of 30.

Summer Heat Before The Flowers Fade
It's 4pm, 92 degrees, and muggy. I looked outside my front room window and admire the beautiful plants that are in flowering mode. Not pink, not blue, but an array of colours to cheer up my headache (I believe I am allergic to that big orange thing in the sky) I have much to do in the yard and feel no need to sweat when the air in the house feels too good right now. Maybe I can hold off for a few hours and work like a mad woman to avoid the Arkansas State Bird.(Mosquito)
When the evening starts to draw near the wonderful purple martins are out in full swing. I counted 6 of them yesterday around my yard. How wonderful they are. Getting the flying bugs in flight is a good thing. If it gets rid of the bugs I don"t mind their early a.m. squawking outside my bedroom window when I have it open.
I did not know it till last year but dragon flyies eat mosquito's! They call them squiter eaters around here.

What A Spring
Lynn, I see you are all getting hammered by the weather just as we are. Keep safe and let me know how you are all doing.
I ordered my transcripts from the few colleges that I have attended and had them sent to my local community college. I am applying for the Paramedics program there. First I have to be accepted into the class. Hopefully my gray hair and pissy attitude won't be tooooo much of a deterrent and I can gracefully make my presents known again on a local campus.
Jim and I got the garden tilled up and planted corn, green bush beans and put potato eyes in a few truck tires. Everything has came up already without a hitch. I put in garlic and Walla Walla Sweet with Texas sweet onion sets in and they are standing tall already. With the price of everything going up, including food; it just makes good since to put in a garden more than ever before. Even Sydney has gotten to know that you cannot step on the rows.

It's Been Forever

Hello from sleepy land.
Seems these days that whenever I get time off I am running around not doing the things that I really need to get done around the house.
Last week I bought a new/used 2007 Chevy Silverado. sniff sniff I will miss my Pathfinder that I have had for the last 7 years. I know that I said I would never buy an American car, we will see how it goes............trust me when I say that I have never had any luck other than a Nissan vehicle. It is a 2007 demo, 6,000 miles, loaded with everything accept the power seats, So I paid 27,000.00, my credit was good but not great so I sacrificed the 4.9% to a 7%. The sales man said if my credit was bad then they would have charged me about 15%. So I don't feel so bad with the 7percent.
We just returned from a Clegg family reunion and stopped at home so Sydney could spend the night at the sitters house. I will be working hard for the next few days.
The flooding in this part of the world has been bad. The Mississippi River looks like an ocean.

Hi Everyone

What a few weeks it has been. Work, trip to San Antonio----see my other blog
and with two days I had off I went to Wynne with Jim and Sydney, then today I worked most of the day on phone calls, fax machine work and letter writting for Jim on the identity theft cases we are working on.
Sydney has been good these days but is very much a 5 year old. He loves to learn and I try to accomidate it. I am on Jims lap top right now and will have to scan the pictures to my computer later. I had 3 rolls of film plus my digital camera. Lots of pictures of SanAntonio, Dallas, and Arlington Texas. There are pictures of Sydney in there also.
I had a problem with Norton AntiVirus. It KILLED my computer!!!!I had AT&T work on it. Said Norton would not even let me on the internet!!! No kidding, that is why I spent 139.00 to have them tell me that. Then I could not even get Norton off my computer. I had to take it into a computer store in Wynne, AR, Mathewson's Computer Repair. He saved all my files to 3 disks- man my book I'm writting is long!- Then he had to wipe everything off. But guess what? Norton would not budge! It destroyed 2 cards in my computer.Another 220.00 later, my computer is home and I have STOP SIGHN on it, I was told that it was the best protection for my computer. So heads up!

Been Too Lazy Lately
Well I have been somewhat busy around the house taking the opprotunity to clean up the yard after my butt has had a few cups of coffee after I awaken. I'm sorry Lynn I had not responded to your e-mails, forgive me, I had not been on the computer taking the time to spend the nice spring days outside before the heat of summer sets in. And then there is work. I worked a few days last week so that also did not allow for pewting time. I saw a movie advertised and went to Wally World and spent my hard earned tax check on a movie called August Rush. My love for music made this a hit. Jim cried, yeah, it's a 1 hanky on a 5 hanky scale. A wonderful movie for the family and reminded me of Mr Holland's Opus.

I have to leave town again to do some more work and will chat again after I have gotten some sleep from my journey's as usual.

New Attic Ladder
Jim and I were collectively removing the old attic ladder, it snapped shut. My left hand was caught by the metal, my right hand caught by the wood enclosures. Jim's left hand was caught. I moaned and cried in pain, Jim was yelling,"I can't get free", I managed to use my thumb on the right side to lift the sprung wood and lifted it up to pry my fingers out. I grabbed the left side that enclosed my fingers and lifted the metal. I helped Jim free his left hand opposite of me. I ran to the kitchen sink and immurced my withered fingers in the icy water. My fingers were numb and the cold watered burned. I can sympathize with the "KNUCKLE TORTURE". I wrapped my left hand in an ice bag immediatly while Jim held his hand under the cold water. His wedding ring saved his finger, my wedding ring caught by the metal was bent and my finger began to swell around it. The Marquise setting was now 1/2 flattened, destroyed. Knuckles are sore to touch today but we survived.

Trip
I enjoyed my trip last week and got to relax somewhat. Sydney ended up getting a sinus infection from running around in the cold air. Right now his nose is red and sore from the constant blowing and wiping of the massive snot that the little 5 year old can produce. (Buckets and buckets of it!)
If it were not for me having to return to work I would have stayed longer. But bills must get paid, dogs must be tended to, and the complete udderly mess from construction must continue.
Mom called me to let me know that they were on their way to pick up grandma (Dad's mom) from Vegas, she is coming to live with them. She is going to be 90 years old in September and needs the care of family now as she is not able to get around like she use to.
Donna and Brenna are moving in this year so that Brenna can finish out her high school year on the mainland (She is in Alaska), I guess the -40+ degree weather in Alaska is just a little to cold for them to concider a permanant spot after Rick retires from the Air Force.

Sherlock Holmes

Not all people know about Identity Theft, but in our home Jim has battled an identity thief for a few years now. To see the other blog on Heather Grady, click onto my profile in the column on the right and you will see the other blog and the investigation that has gone into the works of bringing this woman to justice.
If anyone knows this woman, please contact me with a comment or use my e-mail on the side. Thanks

Therapy
I went with Jim again to his therapy. We all agreed to let Jim go by himself as we(his therapist and I) are feeling that Jim and I are on the right track but Jim needs still to address issues that his therapist needs to pry out of his cobweb filled brain. He says he is ok but I and his therapist know otherwise.
We went to Bonanza to have the buffet after therapy, then to the dollar store and then to Wally World. We came home and finished watching the movie "Jesus". Jim does not know his bible and I was surprised to hear an answer that I asked him last weekend about the Last Supper.

We were listening to the the audio book, The Expected One, I paused the CD and asked him if he knew about the last supper and would he explain to me what he knew. He said that; there was no food and He provided, they ate and drank till they were full and there were baskets left over.
I knew right at the moment that he had not even a glimps as to what the Good Book says. I needed to educate him. Since he is not a reader, I thought that perhaps a movie would help him to understand the words of the audio book we were listening to.
I think I will have him join in on night time reading with Sydney in his children's Bible so that he may great a Sunday-Saturday lesson.

Torry Martin

I was Kani, he was a great Twinkies King. This was my friend Torry. I remember the day we were caught in the back stair-well of the music room smoking by Mr. Johnson, our Shogun Richard Chamberlain look-a-like music teacher. We would cruise the Bremerton strip in a tiny car he had, mustering up $2.00 in gas and another .75cents for a pack of cigarettes. His family and I would sit in the log house on Willamette Road till the wee hours of the night playing Canasta. We went to Olympic College together and learned how to cook, we would sit in the dining room before classes talking over a cup of Stash flavored teas. When my daughter died, he was there. A friend in need. I will never forget when he took me to see Rocky Horror Picture Show. A paper bag loaded with News papers, squirt guns loaded with water, a loaf of bread and Bic lighters in hand. Torry taught me how to have fun and I enjoyed our friendship. The only thing I did not enjoy was the time we went to one of his friends apartments. It was on the second floor, we were drinking margaritas, and champagne. All I remember was that Torry and I were heaving our guts out off the second floor onto the cars parked below. I learned a big lesson that night.
Torry is a Christain comic now. Google his name and you will find lots.

Audio Books
Since I don't have the time these days to cuddle up on the couch with a good book and a blankie, I sit behind the wheel of a noisy truck and stick in a good or not so good audio book. I think I have listened to at least 100 of them in 2007. I slacked off for a month and picked up another one. What a great story. Fact or Fiction remains to be known on the topic of the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. I highly recommend the audio book or book for anyone with an open mind to listen and read. I bought a new unsealed version on the "Mother Ship" Barnes and Noble site for 1.99. crazy me, it cost $6.00 to rent it. This one is a keeper

Here is the review as described on the Barnes and Noble site.....
A GRIPPING THRILLER AND A PROFOUND SPIRITUAL JOURNEY THAT REVEALS THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD!
Two thousand years ago, Mary Magdalene hid a set of scrolls in the rocky foothills of the French Pyrenees, a gospel that contained her own version of the events and characters of the New Testament. Protected by supernatural forces, these sacred scrolls could be uncovered only by a special seeker, one who fulfills the ancient prophecy of l'attendue -- The Expected One.
When journalist Maureen Paschal begins the research for a new book, she has no idea that she is stepping into an ancient mystery so secret, so revolutionary, that thousands of people have killed and died for it. She becomes deeply immersed in the mystical cultures of southwest France as the eerie prophecy of The Expected One casts a shadow over her life and work and a long-buried family secret comes to light. Ultimately she, and the reader, come face-to-face with Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, Judas, and Salome in the pages of a deeply moving and powerful new gospel, the life of Jesus as told by Mary Magdalene.

Writers Block
I sat down to write some more in my book, writers block hit. I only have a whopping 24 pages. uhgggg, I had 500 legal pad pages that compressed to 24 pages? I thought my NY best sellers novel was just about finished- heavy sigh. That's ok, it gives me time to think about things I have forgotten to write about, also the crazy rule of fragmented sentences. Microsoft Word is absolutely great at letting me know when I need to reconstruct a sentence. Raspberries to the paperclip dude! But he (Clippette) makes it easier to be grammatically correct.

V-V-V-Veggietales
It is a quiet morning. I get up to let the Master of the house, Harley and her passive sister CindyLOUWho out the back door. Ah, I spot the left over Chinese food on the table and grab a spoon out of the drawer. I did not put the food in the fridge and was wondering if I might come down with a hairy tongue disease? I bring the food into the office/computer room and I take a bite of about 3 water chestnuts crammed on the teaspoon, sit back savoring the crunchiness. I look up and see Sydney's old poster

I had been buying Sydney Veggitales stories and reading them to him for his bed time stories since he was a baby in the crib. This explains the poster on the ceiling. He could look at the poster and see who I was reading about. One story he likes is of Jr. He is the small asparagus you see in the bottom right.Jr. is singing a song to his father about how "God is bigger than the Boogyman". Well.....Santa brought Sydney a Veggietales song DVD, he runs around the house singing, "Cucumber it's a tomato, must be VEGGIETALES!" He even breaks out into a correct version vs. my version of God Is Bigger Than the Boogie Man. Music to my ears. This little girls version is cute

New Room Update
Jim and I poured the spot where the cast iron stove is going. I had to teach him that curing DOES NOT use heat. I had to break open the Portland Cement Company web site to prove to him that moist was better for curing. I had wanted a little color and bought some peachy blush color to add. It is drying out nicely and should be hard enough to set the stove on it in a day or two.
Since I cannot draw a stright line even with a ruler the wall ought to look intersting when we are done. Yeah, I know, try to snap a chalk line.
Jim had locked himself and Sydney out of the house today. hahahaha good thing I was less than an hour from getting home. I had to stop and get the Chinese food that I called in before he called me.
And it is definate! I LOVE this Shiatsu chair!

Shiatsu Message

Now Jim and I have seen this cushion at Sam's Club and tried it out about a month ago. We did not buy it and we had often talked about getting the message cushion if we went back again.
I have been working on my book trying to get it ready for publishing when my achy brakey back was letting me know that I needed a better supporting chair.
After Jim's therapy session we went to lunch at Bonanza and headed of to Wally World when we spotted the message cushion there and a whole dollar cheaper than Sam's Club which made no sense to me. We brought the pad home along with a new high back chair and all is well. I have done 2 intense Shiatsu sessions that last 15 minutes each. The message automatically shuts off. Oh I think it hurts so good. Can I be in Love with a chair pad? It was well worth the $98.00!

The Gold Finches Are Back

If it were not for the garbage truck that chased away most of the birds I would have had a better picture. The Finches are back early this year. They do not have their mating plumage just yet but they are pretty with the slight tint of a green when the light hits them just right. They are squawking away at the thistle seed socks that I bought yesterday. Last year I would go through about one pound of seed a day filling their socks up.
Last year I was enlightened by the Raspberry Finches as well.

Now if I can just get another couple of Blue birds to nest in one of the 7 nesting boxes I have hung up I would be a happy camper.

Happy New Year 2008
Last night I put away the Christmas tree. It almost felt like death to me.
Today I went with Jim to his therapy session and I felt like she tried to pry his eyes open to life.
Life and death, such a viscous cycle.
Providing I do not have to go to work tomorrow Jim and I will go see a movie.
Jim is in the new room putting up some more 2x4's for the brick backed wall for the wood stove. Bought some more insulation and will get that up tonight as well. I guess I better get in there and help.
