He Loves Me He Loves Me Much

I was watching The History Channel last night and just could not get comfortable as Sydney layed sleeping in between my legs on a pillow and covered with a throw. At a commercial I slid out from under him and went to lay him in his bed. I pulled back his bedding that included a new Superman silk like blanket that I retrieved from Wal-Mart's clearance isle. I thought he may be happy to wake up under his new blanket. I finished watching my program and decided at 2 a.m. that I would retire to my own 400 count sheets with my mink blanket. I have always liked to be surrounded by soft stuff. It just makes me feel good. But nothing is better than my pillows. I at one time had six pillows but am down to 4. I find as I get older that my rotator cuff problems in my shoulder is now in both shoulders and I can better manipulate my pillows if I don't have so many of them around * heavy sigh*. Any stomach sleeper will tell you, "The More Pillows The Better."
I woke sometime in the still dark early morning hours to find an arm in my face as I scrambled out of bed to the 12 foot stagger to the bathroom. I could smell the chili cooking on the stove and went to make a quick stir and then returned to bed.
I woke at 9:30 a.m. to the phone ringing. grrrrrrr pet peeve of mine. I took the dogs outside, tested a pinto bean to make sure it was done ( I used dry beans )and sat down to finish waking up.
I next hear,"Mommy" My signal to go lay down next to the man and give him morning kisses while trying to keep Harley from licking his face off. He is STILL a hair twirler and gets his hands in my own mussed up hair that is all sticking to my head, he twirls his hand to pull a wad around his finger. I kiss a pajama Spiderman shirt under his pits as he giggles. Ugh bad breath he has. I tell him good morning and that Harley loves him too and not to be mean at her for turning him into a salt lick.
He hold me tight and with his stale breath tell me he loves me too.

Lonely Trip Home

I parked on my usual ramp in the early a.m. hours on the way back from Nashville this morning. I woke 5 hours later to wonder where the accident was that must be somewhere behind me. There were few cars, mostly semi's, and happily only one camper trailer the whole 4 hours back home. People were just not out and I envisioned them all BBQing at home with friends and family. Others in big trucks were at work like myself. The campers that usually travel in packs of 70 year olds behind the wheels and clogging up the veins of the interstate were not paying for gas this season. I felt like the movie when people were missing and God came to take them to Heaven. I thought, wait a moment I should be there too. But instead, I came home and made a quick spaghetti dinner with Sydney refusing to eat.
I thought about taking Sydney to the Memphis Zoo tomorrow but have declined to do so since we have an OZONE warning for people to stay inside and not drive if it is not necessary. Saturday was such(what I call) a red letter day. Absolutely gorgeous; The day was about 75 degrees, moderate breeze, low (35) humidity, and not a cloud in the sky. Jupiter and the crescent Moon were out together and I pulled out my camera for a shot of the event. (I will post picture when the film comes back from being developed)
My mailman (lady) was running the mail? Humm, banks and schools were closed but the mail ran. Unusual I thought as I watched her drive to the neighbors mailbox.

Gas Prices S O A R sorely in Small Town, USA

I swear I will slug the next man that EVER second guesses my motives! After I posted I took my 5 gallon hunky round red plastic gas jug and hauled it down the street. Lo and behold gas there was still 2.99. I said fill this up and top my car off (I had only had 3/4 tank from filling it with 35.00 the day before.) I said,"The prices are going to jump again." The man just looked at me, you know, one of those,"What planet did you come from?" look. I told him that if the prices go any higher I will let my yard grow pass the 10" of the code enforcement in the town I live, funny that there were cops EVERYWHER this morning and a few travelers, mostly the Mexicans coming back from Michigan to the South to go back to work. Why Michigan? Haven't a clue. Anyway back to my title.....
The man did as I asked and I spent another 32.00 in gas. Point is........ coming back from work today the SAME stations gas was 3.19. Raspberries to you to!

So here is a link for all of you to find the cheapest gas and location in your area. Just click on your state and waa-laa, have fun searching relatives neighborhoods also.

The Big News As Promised

For a few years now it has come to my attention that I find ALL Southern men are STUPID and/or LAZY! So with that in mind I figured I would never get married again. I don't support 35 year old retired men. I thought to make my family complete that I would adopt a child. I have attended orientation back in March of this year, filled out all the required paper work and have had all my investigation back ground checks including: DMV, FBI, State and Local courts, etc....
I was suppose to have my home inspection last week but the woman never showed up or called. Well, she called today. Tomorrow I will have my home inspection that includes some really mundane tasks to be done. For example ALL knives including kitchen knives are to be under lock and key. All medicines and cleaning supplies are to be locked up as well. I already had a fire extinguisher so that was not a problem. I have ordered another chest of drwers and they are not here yet so I hope that is not a strike against me. There are classes that I must attend. 6 Saturday classes for 5 hours each. That is going to be a problem for work and I fear I will be pulling 24 hour stay-awake shifts for the weekend. I will see when the time comes in June if things can be worked out that I can get some sleep in somewhere.
I was asked if I would foster a child since they are in need, but what I heard is that,"we need white foster parents". I do not know if I could do that though. I think it would take someone with a stronger base to let a child go once you have them with you awhile. Again, I shall see.

Lazy Hazy Summer Days

Ever get in a lazy slump? Mine always come in summer. Well, maybe not summer per say, but the heated days of the year. It came early this year. Spring was unusual with days near 90 degrees then dropped back down 2 weeks later into the 30's. Neighbors scrambling to cover planted crops of berry vines, tomato plants etc.... Farmers last week were all diligently RE-Planting all the corn crops as they yellowed away to floppy stumps in the thousands of acres that surround my home. We are now back on tract with my thermometer reading 87 yesterday. The Attic fan was noisily blowing, I am glad I had that thermostat (to the attic blower) replaced 2 years ago. I can tell the difference in the house cooling.
It often gets too hot to mow my yard and I have to do it in shifts. Drink some of our highly stinking chlorinated tap water ( I think my insides should be sparkling clean ) mow front yard, sit and cool off with more water or tea sipping, do a quarter of the back yard, sip and mow some more and so on. I tend to then save weed eating for around the 6 pm hour. This gives me time to cool off and look at what exactly needs to get hit with the fast green plastic whirly gig. Ah, just in time the sun starts to fall and I am hosing the side walk, patio and carport down with the hose to remove all trace of grass.
Does this sound like anyone else out there? Hum? I wonder.

Don't Play With Your Food

Every parent has taught their child/ren, yelled and have been insistent on not playing with their food. Maybe we ought to lighten up a bit. I find the following to enlighten you with. I am sure you may have a few of your own. Please feel free to comment on you personal favorite.

1- M&M's (Plain)- placing a wad of 6 or so candies in your cheek: move one to the front of your teeth and try to remove the coating without breaking it up into small pieces. Do this fast enough so that the last M&M is not melted. Consider yourself an expert if you can do it with peanut M&M's. Same concept, just one at a time move the peanuts to the other cheek. Keep them all there till you are ready to eat the peanuts alone.

2-Malted Milk Balls- Place one on the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth. Now roll it with your tongue and at the same time try to scrape the chocolate off. I like to call this the lathe method. One caution though; too many tries at this will cause that piece of skin between your front teeth to feel like it has been burnt by hot liquids!

3-Shredded Mini Wheat Cereal- Frosted of course- bite it in half eating just the frosted part.

4-Celery-Place a dopple of cream cheese in a round blob on a plate. Take your celery and try to get the stringy stuff off with your teeth. Make hair on your cream cheese and bite off a few pieces for facial features.

5-Mashed Potaoes- Play Close Encounters of the Third Kind. If you are in a resturant just stare at it and keep saying "I know this"

Virginia Tech

Days after posting, "What Wrong With The World Now-A-Days", A nightmare described in my post was reality. Cho Seng-Wei committed a mass murder suicide. The time for healing and anger has and will soon set in after the shock has subsided.
The media now needs to set aside and let the course of healing begin.
The courts of the land need to have in the back of their minds the awful events that are now taking place in the recent years and the following to come. Close the gun shops and only allow hunting riffles to be sold at City Hall's where the appropriate authorities can handle them properly. 60 day waiting periods for APPROPRIATE back-ground checks, finger prints etc... can commence. So if a person wants to hunt they need to get a jump start on the system. It may not stop the mayhem but may only put a band aide on the events yet to happen once again.
No longer is shooting rages committed to the postal workers, but we are all saying," They've Gone Postal"

What's Wrong With The World Now-A-Days

My brother recently sent me an e-mail discussing that we grew up in a different era. Didn't we all though? Our days as kids were much like that of The Sandlot movie. We were kids in Hawaii and walked barefoot everywhere accept to school, we played from dusk till dawn without adult supervision, we sold frozen Kool-Aid in Dixie cups for 15 cents, cutting (walking) through someones yard was a no no, playing door bell ditch, and saying The Pledge Of Allegiance every morning with your hand over your heart was done ritually every morning facing a flag in the class room. We had crushes on teachers but never slept with them (although I don't know that Lori was telling the truth when she said she slept with the music teacher), we got caught smoking in the stair well, and some schools allowed smoking outside, we closed the curtains during sex education so the younger kids could not see the slides of the reproductive organs on the dreaded slide machine, we all sniffed our papers when we got them warm in our hands but never got high- they just smelled good. We did not worry about guns, knives unless it was an school activity group. We had Girl/Boy scouts, Boys/Girls clubs and the YMCA's. We had 6th grade camp, a much needed and rested vacation for one week away from home in the great outdoors in A frame cabins, fun field trip where you packed a brown bag lunch with your name scribbled on the bag and ate your smashed PBJ at lunch time. You would walk or ride your bike in any neighborhood without the fear of getting mugged, raped, or shot at. We ate dinner as a family, and had our parents help us with homework, we obeyed our parents with manners. We were latch key kids and could be trusted. And we had some common sense. Happy Days and Lavern and Shirley was a good show.

Toady's world is very sad. The kids are rude and even evil, no manners and at times hateful. They hold grudges that their parents taught them to do inadvertently. There are no good field trip because of budget cuts, there are no after school programs because the teachers do not get paid for them. And where are the YMCA's or the scouts and clubs that use to be so prominent? Oh Yeah, the scout masters are raping our children-I forgot. There is no Pledge Of Allegiance because of idiots in Congress, we fear for our children's lives in school because of crazy shooters, kidnappers, and bad kids. We cannot spank our children for fear that they may be taken from us, and now they say we cannot get our children too overweight or the states will take them away also. Computer/video games now consume our children, they listen to cop killing cursing music, foul language on regular network programing and they tote weapons to kill and maim.

My solution: Bring back the belt and Bring back God.

Pertinent Observations

Now where was I before life so rudely interrupted me? Oh yeah, life events as I see them.....or have heard:

Howard K. Stern-Accessory to murder, you money grubbing, baby hustler,
Rosie O'Donald- I love ya gal, but air your opinions on your blog and not on the t.v..
Hillary Clinton- I didn't vote for her then and sure am not going to vote for her later.
Al Gore-Practice what you preach, get off your jets and sell off your houses. The earth has been changing for millions of years. Are you going to tell us to kill off all the cows now?
