I have been setting bird seed out in my yard on a hanger pole but had put the bag on my porch. I noticed that the bag had been torn appart in several locations. Well, last night as I sat watching The Chiller Channel I heard my brass spittoon (butt can) clanking as brass will do when knocked around. I turned on the porch light to see 2 coons in the bag that held the cracked corn and sunflower seeds. I banged on the door to shoo them away. I went outside to get my trap out of the back of my pick up truck; since I never put it back after a relocation of cat #13 earlier in the week. I baited the trap with dog food and found this fuzzy monster with a bad temper this morning. Her leg is missing hair from sticking it outside the cage trying to get out.
I tell you what, this $59.99 medium cage is the best thing. I have caught sooo many cats and raccoons in it that it paid for itself the first month I bought it 3 years ago.
This is a female raccoon, she turned over on her back as I hosed her down since it is about 85 degrees outside and she was panting. She obviously had been nursing babies. My neighbor is not home to shoot the thing so I will take her to a remote location and let her go in an unpopulated area.
And one more thing, these critters STINK!
