Going Going Gone
I spent a few days visiting my parents with Jim and Sydney by my side. Happily we were in a hurry to do absolutely nothing. And I say we made great progress in the event of trying to live up to the term of "In a hurry to do nothing". Mom and I went to an auction of miscellaneous junk, I bought 3 rubber mallets all new for 7.50(I use them at work), a NEW bread machine without the box for 6.00 and 2 new unopened packages of tie down straps (8 total) for my little Nissan Pick Up costing me 3.00 for all. Then there was a $1.00 box that I got that had a Mr Coffee Tea Machine and two pitchers, there were other things in it such as the 2 monkey plastic mugs that still had the tags on them. After washing Sydney had to break them in by dunking some Oreo's in his milk.
Jim said he was happy to get away without his cell phone strapped to his ear, little television, and reeking in the fresh air of the scenery.
The time was to short as I enjoyed spending time with my folks, little Abbey, Beau, Aurthorette and my two little men.
It was muggy. Too Muggy and I rather prefer the fall. I did get to see the fire flies aka Lightning Bugs up there in Missouri, they did not show up in my area this year. Not even so mush as a neon green splotch on my windshield. I figured our killer mosquito's ate them. I even noticed that the Katydids did not make there June 1st showing as I am accustomed to hearing them on or about this date. The less bugs the better I say. Leave all the others but take the mosquito's!

WOW I FEEL OLD NOW!
I heard this on the radio last night and you know I have not heard it for literally YEARS. It was scarry when I sang the whole song through!
I read the fight below this video. Who cares, I Loved it when it came out. 70 what? That is the problem with "One Hit Wonders", I always ask,"What ever happen to_______?"

Who's The School Girl Now?
Now there are a few things that make the world go around: The solar system on that make shift bent up wire clothes hanger science project you did in grade school, visions of Ben Franklin's stuffing a money envelope that you get on your birthdays or other holidays from your loving relatives, and the last is when Cupid plants that arrow deep in your buttocks to announce to the world that you have been hit hard. I can hear Forrest Gump say now," I Been Shot In The Butt".
Have you ever noticed a school girl who is infatuated (I hated that word). She stands in the bathroom at school and tells everyone who is within peeing distance, or to a cheerleader trying to slap on a few extra pounds of mascara on in between classes, or she is standing at her locker with books up to her eyes that have a tell tell sign of giddy. She has a crush.
This has been Jim in the last few days. Though I don't relish the idea of the mascara looking better on him than me but I WILL get over it!
We decided to keep our little secret a secret due to work. He works for a rival company. Kind of like a Postal worker marrying a UPS or FedEx worker. Again there is that "Some Thing Don't Match" as in one of my posts.
Just One Day, count them 1-UNO day after we decided to go ahead and make a commitment to wed, his whole side of the family knows. And by day 2, again that is TWO- DOS- DUO DAYS his co-workers know. I am laughing knowing that he is standing in the bathroom at work just waiting for someone to happen in and let it be known.I only can hope that it is not the man with the Dark Brown Maybalene wand batting the mascara on his skin below his eyes. I am laughing good and know that it is a nice warm fuzzy feeling to know you can actually like it because you know it will be a good thing.

A July Wedding?
If everything goes as planned I am getting married next month. His name is Jim and is 57 years old.
I will get a picture tonight of him to post on here for you all to see.
He's been single for two years now vs my 7 years. I told him it may take more of me getting use to the idea that I would be married than him. But we have been talking and I think everything will be right as rain.
There is one thing that I need to do before getting married that concern getting my personal affairs together, other than that I think we would have just gotten a JP and gotten married last week. I have known him for nearly a year and Wednesday the 4th of July Jim and immediate members of his family along with Sydney and I(8 in all) are going to get together at a local Cracker Barrel-like restaurant called Ole Saw Mill Cafe for a,"Hello I am the woman marrying your father" meeting.
I will be known as Mrs. Curry for the sake of Sydney and my sanity of not having to deal with all the name changing that I would DREAD like the plague in this day and age. He seems to be OK with that as well.
Sydney has taken to him quite well and asks about Jim when he is not here. Of course my dogs greet him like they do me, licks so wet that you need a bath upon entering the doorway. Love me love my dog- so very true

My Views on "THE WAR" in Irac

September 11th was a tragic day in United States history, that goes without saying. President Bush went through The House and Congress to set up strategies on just how to approach the terrorist. Word was after voting to attack. This process according to me was entirely way too long. But then again, if I got slapped I would not be as so kind to stand there and think about slugging that person back either. Go in and kick some ass I say. Not later but now. But we waited to long, the flies were scattering around the arid landscape abroad.
The threat of National Security not only for the US but all over the globe is always present. We sat back and waited for it to happen and it did.
Whatever happened to preventive maintenance? We do it on our cars, homes, why not our country?
Where are our spies? Remember the attack on Midway Island? The Americans knew it was coming. Our military intercepted. And on 9/11 there were reports there was to be an attack on the US. It came without interception. WHY? Because the people in Congress are sitting on their butts trying to figure out where they are going to go on their next vacation?
So now our troops and contractors are around the globe. Yes, they are dying for our country to be safe in the future. We don't like our family and friends dying there.
But imagine that if we were attacked again here in the states. How many children and other civilians would be dead then? LOTS.

Now everyone is screaming,"BRING OUR TROOPS HOME." These people are the ones who never heard their parents say," If you are going to do a half ass job then don't do it at all."
I think it is now a Civil Action due to the actions that we are trying to help another country put it's government back into force. It takes years to get things like this in order when you have oppositions to overcome.
We enjoy our freedom. Let us help others to enjoy theirs.

Dinosaurs and God
Now for the next couple of posts I am going to go into taboo country; meaning in short: Religion, politics, racism and other like topics that people tend to fight over. This is MY one persons point of view.

This bad boys head is said to be 150 M I L L O N YEARS old
Now, no where in Genesis do I recall that these monsters ever roamed around with Adam and Eve. But it is obvious they were here. You do not have to see the bird to know that it pooped on the top of your head nor do you have to see a million dollars to know that exists. It just is.
I do not believe in the Big Bang Theory, I do not believe we came from wanna be upright or half bent over monkey humanoids. But I think their kind may have still existed in some small way when Adam & Eve came on board.
I have read in the Bible about a Leviathan. Most people have who read the NIV. And what about Noah and the animals? It would have been nice to have gotten a list of all creatures that boarded his giant vessel. Was the Lock Ness monster a dinosaur and was left in the Great Flood to relocate in the Scottish Isles? Who knows. And there is no mention of Big Foot either.
The Behemoth is can honestly say that I do not recall (no I am not related to Ronald Regan) reading of it in Job. I will, however look into that tonight.
I read articles all the time on different theories. Here is mine:
God said,"OK, lets start out with these little critters and see what happens." POOF A small ugly creature that resembles a mouse comes into view, only he had an armour plate like an armadillo. "Hum? Lets' get bigger."POOF in comes rhinoceros like looking animals with big teeth for tearing into whatever. Then bigger and bigger they got until he said," I don't like these things." Kind of like drawing on a black board then erasing things out to start over again. How HE did it is a hot topic too; anything from a meteor casting darkness over the earth to another flood or continental drifts that separated the land. As a Christan, What are we to believe?
Did the knights of Mid-evil times long ago really slay Puff The Magic Dragon?
Did the sailors really see giant serpents and sirens/mermaids?
And what about the fabled unicorn that little girls cherish?
I think that possibly God was sketching, erased the slate to start anew with Adam and Eve, and up till Noah's time, HE erased again, HE is sketching now but I do believe HE is ready to put the chalk down and erase again.

To Catch A Theif
This thief does not include Robert Wagner or Stefanie Powers but a pair of raccoons.
I have been setting bird seed out in my yard on a hanger pole but had put the bag on my porch. I noticed that the bag had been torn appart in several locations. Well, last night as I sat watching The Chiller Channel I heard my brass spittoon (butt can) clanking as brass will do when knocked around. I turned on the porch light to see 2 coons in the bag that held the cracked corn and sunflower seeds. I banged on the door to shoo them away. I went outside to get my trap out of the back of my pick up truck; since I never put it back after a relocation of cat #13 earlier in the week. I baited the trap with dog food and found this fuzzy monster with a bad temper this morning. Her leg is missing hair from sticking it outside the cage trying to get out.
I tell you what, this $59.99 medium cage is the best thing. I have caught sooo many cats and raccoons in it that it paid for itself the first month I bought it 3 years ago.
This is a female raccoon, she turned over on her back as I hosed her down since it is about 85 degrees outside and she was panting. She obviously had been nursing babies. My neighbor is not home to shoot the thing so I will take her to a remote location and let her go in an unpopulated area.
And one more thing, these critters STINK!

Memphis Night Life
Memphis is a great place to be on Friday nights. Walking down Beale Street listening to all the Jazz music playing, the smell of great BBQ and alcohol fill the air, horse and buggies are walking up and down the streets with newly weds and sweethearts cuddling under blankets on cool nights. Lights, Music, Action.........

Watching The Mountain
I am interested in astronomy and was link surfing to find this nice picture while looking for a space view of volcanic activity here on planet Earth. I was specifically looking for the islands developing underwater in the Hawaiian waters when I ran into this Alaskan Volcano that had a minimal eruption in May 2007

Wired For Sound............and
anything else. Who needs drugs when we have caffeine boosters. I took a few to try them out but frankly, I am afraid to. I am not caffeine sensitive and the baby factory is closed for the season. The silver is sweetened while the copper colored one I am guessing is "black". I will however, try it in the morning.

I have been nursing this watered down orange juice all night. Still lovin the labels.

It's Worth Reading the Labels

I stopped at the Pilot Truck stop in Lebanon, TN., I was going for the water when this new bottle caught my eye in the cooler. There were many different antidotes to choose from. I stood there reading the back and started to laugh. Well it said I would feel refreshed. Hummmm? Well at 3:30 in the morning I thought I would give it a try.

Apocalypto
When I was in high school I loved the Mayan and Inca's that I studied in history.
I bought this movie at Wal-Mart last week. OUTSTANDING!!!!!
Regardless what you might think of Mel Gibson, he puts out some Great movies. Here is a trailer I found on the net.
Put on your glasses to read the subtitles, but I found that most great movies have them. This movie has lots of violence and some nudity (not the bad kind though)I recommend it as a PG13 if they are mature. It is rated as an R.
Another look at Mel's point of view how it must have been..............

Roaring Recession

In the 1920's the recession started while the flappers were dancing the night away. Soon the money was missing along with the music and parties.
The farmers then were having dust devils and feast or famine was on the schedule for the next era.
I open my home page this morning to see that it says since 2002 the USA has slowed it's economical growth.
I told Dad a few months ago that we were headed for a recession. He agreed. The stock market hit bottom in 1 day but bounced back up to new heights. It won't stay that way long. So what if there are economic analyst's. And that means what? They can think something is going to happen but that is at best a guess. I think just as well as those people and I think it is going to get bad.
The dust bowl of the south east United States is just that. Farmers are desperate for rain that once plagued the central U.S.
Time repeats itself.
What comes around goes around.

Just Where Is Your Happy Place?

Ahhhh, sipping on a frozen Sangria at a seaside resort in the shallow end of a pool bar
Or perhaps
Out on the Serengeti Plains elephant watching in an open aired jeep, chasing leopards at high speeds and watching lion cubs romp in the bushes
Or perhaps
Sitting high up on a hilltop amount your trusty steed overlooking the lush valleys of the Ireland landscape
Or perhaps
In the hot Florida Keys swimming with the dolphins as if you were a mermaid
Or perhaps
A Parka dawned with ski's in hand going up the lift to your favorite slope, you feel the cold wind on your cheeks and all is well with the world
Or perhaps
High in the sky flying with the birds and wanting to catch a glimps of God
Where is your happy place if even for one minute of day dreaming?
